FAQ’s

This is my child’s first experience being in group care, what should I expect?

Depending on your child’s temperament, drop off may be a bit of a challenge. After drop off, his/her day will be filled with age appropriate learning opportunities. Children learn best through play and the messier the play the better. Be sure to dress your little one in clothing that can stand up to learning.

What should I know about before school drop off?

Before school drop off costs $50 /week. Our doors open as early as 6:30 am, we serve breakfast at 7:00 am, and our bus route to public shool will leave at 7:20 am. Please not that space is extremely limited so please contact as soon as possible for placement.

Do you need care in either the morning or afternoon for your 4 or 5 year old?

Need morning care?

We open at 6:30 am, provide breakfast at 8:00 am, prepare your child for kindergarten until lunch time that is served at 11:00 am, and will drop your child off at his/her public pre-k program.*

Need afternoon care?

We will pick up your child from their public pre-K program*, provide him/her with a full meal upon arrival, assist with homework, and provide care until 6:00 pm.

*We will only be able to drop off and pick up from select pre-K programs depending on location.

I have hear that children in group are always sick, is this true?

When children are not around other children, their immune system may be more susceptible to germs and viruses. Your little one may get sick during the first few weeks of care but once their system is around other children more often, illnesses happen less and less.

What if morning drop off becomes challenging with my child not wanting me to leave. How should I handle this?

The best thing to do is drop off during breakfast time. Food is a great distraction. Drop off should be quick and easy. A simple kiss and hug and then parents should walk out. When parents sit with the children or stand in the room for a while, this makes the adjustment that much harder.

If my child is sick or we take a vacation and my child misses school, am I still charged the full weekly rate?

Yes. Tuition is still due in full if the child misses for any reason. Once your child is enrolled for 4 months, we do give an annual vacation week. This vacation week is for families to use once per year in which the child does not attend and the account is not charged.

What is your policy on when children are sick?

When children run a fever of 100.5 or higher (taken under the arm), have excessive diarrhea or vomiting, and/or have an unexplained rash, they must be picked up within the hour and may only return until symptoms have been gone for 24 hours without medication.

What is your policy if children get hurt?

We write an “accident report” in the event a child is hurt and it leaves a mark. In the event that one child hurts another child, a parent report will go home to the offending child in order to keep the parents informed.
